Canales & Co. teamed up with architecture firm LSI to turn an old Shell gas station into a casual Texas ice house. With a Marfa meets Luckenbach vibe and drinks like "The Desert Zombie" paired with apps like crispy “Tumbleweed” onion strings, Chalmers is a flavor-packed experience with unmistakable Texas charm.
We started with the branding and finished with the interiors for a complete design touch from beginning to end. With both teams under one roof, we were able to tie everything together with fun touches throughout the space like custom tile in the bathroom that resembles the shape of the Chalmers sign out front.
Out front, an alfresco bar makes use of a defunct gas pump, and in the back, fire pits with TVs and a stage for live music make this the perfect place to hang with a group large or small for the big game or just for happy hour.
Canales & Co. designed custom furniture, sourced curtains, and added unique art to the walls inside to create a welcoming atmosphere. At the bar you’ll find coasters, koozies, napkins - anything you need to accompany an ice cold beer - with Chalmers branding.
The Canales & Co. interior designers and brand designers partnered up to create an one-of-a-kind gate that welcomes you inside (or sometimes the waiting spot to get inside on a busy Saturday in the fall). Once you’re in, you’ll find a number of hand-painted murals throughout the space.
The entire place is infused with “Lucky Chalms” from custom wallpaper to rabbits and horseshoes around every corner. If you look closely, you’ll find paw prints in the saltillo tile for a fun easter egg.
Chalmers is filled with good times and lots of great design. We were happy to be a part of this one.
